Tamandua (Mbya Guaraní)

Noticia! El documental Tamandua (Mbya Guaraní) sera proyectado el día miércoles 18 de Junio a las 18.30 en el Complejo Cultural en la Manzana de las Luces, Peru 272.



Tras recorrer 13 km de tierra rojiza se llega a la comunidad Mbya Guaraní de Tamanduá, ubicada en medio del monte, en la provincia de Misiones, Argentina. Allí, entre los 140 habitantes de la comunidad, se encuentran alrededor de 20 artesanos, entre ellos se destacan Sabina Duarte, nieta de Dionisio Duarte, fundador de la comunidad 44 años atrás, y Alberto Velázquez. El documentalista describe el trabajo artesanal de Sabina, en el entorno de su familia, así como el trabajo del tallador Alberto. Estos trabajos, de superlativa calidad, expresión de su arte y cultura, son una importante fuente de ingresos, base de su esperanza de un futuro mejor para ellos y sus hijos.

The Mbyá-Guarani community of Tamanduá is reached after travelling 13 km along a red dirt road into the middle of the forest in the province of Misiones in Argentina. There are about 20 artisans, among the 140 people who live in the community. Two of the outstanding artists are Sabina Duarte, granddaughter of Dionisio Duarte, the founder of the community 44 years ago, and Alberto Velazquez. The documentary describes the artisanal work of Sabina, in the environment of her family, and the work of the wood carver Alberto Velazquez. The handicrafts are of superb quality, and are an expression of their art and culture, and constitute an important source of income, and a basis of their hope for a better future for themselves and their children.
